3D Class Week 09 Create a Simple Organic Model

This week took everything we learned from the past 4 weeks and packed it into one. We were given concept art for several different aquatic creatures and props and allowed to choose one to model. I chose the crab as my creature of choice on the basis that it looked like the most difficult, for several reasons. The most prominent reason being that it's not a symmetrical creature and the concept image didn't show enough to get a full understanding of the creature, so a lot was left to imagination and what real crab reference would inform. This assignment took me 11.25 hours to complete, from modeling in Maya, to sculpting in Zbrush, texturing in Substance Painter, and finally importing into Unreal Engine 4. I also decided to bring it into Marmoset Toolbag 2 to give a fully view able model. I really enjoyed this assignment as it didn't have many of the restraints that previous learning assignments had.
